When the MicroGC helps biologists!

With the development of green energies and alternatives to the use of conventional (petroleum) resources, fermentation processes have good days ahead.

Thanks to its biotransformation and culture plateau and the expertise of its engineers, TWB (Toulouse White Biotechnology) offers its partners and customers a fully automated high-capacity screening service allowing the implementation of micro-organisms in 24 50mL micro-reactors in parallel.

With the installation of two Fusion micro GCs and controlled track selectors, the platform now has an unprecedented on-line gas analysis capability on all 24 micro-reactors.

The production of light molecules, such as hydrogen, methane, isobutene, is now a major issue in the energy and transport sectors of the energy transition.

Fermentation is one of the methods of production used for biomass recovery.

Thanks to Micro GC Fusion, The platform is now able to analyse in-line the gas production and/or consumption of each reactor.

With an analysis in less than a minute per reactor, the monitoring frequency for each medium is about 10 minutes.

Selection valve sampling allows an optimal compromise between the number of analyzers required and the desired frequency of analysis per reactor.

With two identical sets, each comprising a selection valve and a microGC, the solution proposed by CHEMLYS meets the requirements in terms of congestion, frequency of analysis and budget.

We thank the entire team for their welcome and enthusiasm for the implementation of innovative technologies!
